ZLM is an institution for laboratory medicine supporting hospitals, medical practices offices as well as private organizations. In a shared network we are working at different location and we are responsible for more than 3.000 hospital beds in the region of Essen. Every year we support more than 300.000 blood counts. The shareholder of the ZLM are Essen-Mitte-Kliniken, Alfried Krupp Klinikum and Conmtilia Group. The ZLM was founded in 1997 and Prof. Dr. Hafner is the head of the Institute since 2002.
