San Bortolo Hospital, in Vicenza, is the third general hospital in Veneto, for number of beds (1021), high specializations and level of care. Twelve surgical and 18 medical clinics, plus over 10 services (labs, radiologies, anaesthesiology, …) serve about 300,000 people in the Vicenza province. Clinical Chemistry and Haematology Lab perform nearly 4.5 milion lab tests/y, for about 400,000 patients/y.
Reason for Choosing Sysmex
We were the first HST installation in ITALY, in 1997.
At that time the PCDPS was the most important drive for us:
(1) Implementing Autovalidation
(2) Standardizing in the selection of review slides
(3) Explicitating our multiple parameters validation, using the rules editor
(4) To change the Technicians role from the analytical execution to managing the analysis processes
(5) Standardize the slide preparation
