New approaches to implement laboratory automation products are carried out by Sysmex since the early 90's. Today based on international experiences, the European model was refined with detailed workflow analyses, cost- and process modelling; utilizing computer simulation to enable data based future planning.

After evaluating the current workflow, the collected data of all processes, including the pre- and post-analytical area, are adapted and analysed for the modelling of an improved workflow.

In the investigative techniques used in oncology and haematology, automated and manual methods have traditionally complemented each other in the quantitative and qualitative assessment of body cells. The powerful and flexible haematology automation, HST-N series and XE-AMS, performs the entire process of CBC, 5-part differential, rericulocyte analysis, NRBC, and blood film preparation including staining without operator intervention. The combination of optional automation modules provides intelligent tube sorting and erythrocyte sedimentation analysis.
