This is an exciting time to join us, as this role will be involved in several product launches for new FISH products this year, as well as projects to expand the portfolio with Sysmex our parent company a global leader in in vitro diagnostics.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in Product Management, as training and development will be given.  It will suit someone who is self-motivated, takes responsibility for their personal development, and demonstrates resilience in order to meet the needs of the role.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing, this role will be based at our new Cambridge Science Park site and will have a wide variety of duties such as:

1. Owning the Product Management process to deliver a portfolio of competitive products by:

  •     Developing an understanding of the global market for FISH in Cytogenetics and Cancer applications.
  •     Analysing the market to define new product development and product improvement projects and provide marketing input to the development process.
  •     Understanding our customers to identify short and longer-term needs and feedback conclusions into the annual portfolio review and business planning process.
  •     Assimilating customer feedback by spending a minimum of 2 days per month or equivalent facing prospective customers/ customer base to solicit feedback.
  •     Developing our Unique Selling Points (USPs) and clear competitive advantages in product literature.
  •     Delivering training to new hires so they understand the product capabilities and our competitive advantage.
  •     Ensuring successful transition of products and information to the regional marketing team for launch.

2. Working with the regional marketing team to:

  •     Develop tactical marketing plans for the portfolio, ensuring corporate strategic objectives are met.
  •     Develop the product positioning and future sales argumentation.
  •     Input in to sales support & product collateral to effectively promote products.

 3. Owning and maintaining competitor and technology database by:

  •     Regularly researching and reviewing our competitors via websites, literature and market research, updating database with findings and recommendations.
  •     Obtaining feedback from sales, support and regional marketing colleagues and incorporating this into the database.
  •     Preparing recommendations that aid the creation of successful customer value propositions across the portfolio.

To be successful in this role we need someone who:

  •     Minimum BSc in biological sciences discipline, MSc/PhD preferred
  •     Has previous commercial experience (2 years plus) in a sales, marketing or support within a Life Sciences, Genomics or in vitro Diagnostics company.
  •     Is keen to develop applications and new technology in the clinical and diagnostic arena.
  •     Has a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, with a commitment to their own personal development.
  •     Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and can manage conflicting priorities.
  •     Is driven to deliver for the customer, but also has the ability to manage expectations.
  •     Has strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and present findings to different audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  •     Has a positive attitude to change, with the ability to adapt to different situations quickly.
  •     Is excellent at time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  •     Is able to travel internationally up to 25%.

 It would also be good, but not essential to have:

  •     Direct experience in clinical molecular genetics, or cytogenetics/FISH and able to talk the clinical geneticist’s language.
  •     Lab experience in genomics technologies such as FISH or karyotyping.
  •     A proven track record of success in growing or supporting sales in clinical molecular genetics, diagnostics or cytogenetics markets. Including managing relationships with Key Customers/ opinion leaders in their field.
  •     A successful track record in product management and or product development.
