Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers. The good news is that CRC incidence and mortality can be reduced significantly if detected early enough.

Faecal immunochemical tests (FIT) are non-invasive and can detect blood in stool invisible to the naked eye. Due to its simplicity, FIT is currently considered the best non-invasive test for CRC screening.

Strategic Product Manager – NGS & Microarrays

Description of Role

1. Owning the Strategic Product Management process to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of competitive products including:

  • Understanding the global market for Microarray and Next Generation Sequencing in Cytogenetics and Cancer.
  • Analysing market, define new product development and product improvement projects and provide marketing input to such projects
  • Speaking with customer base and prospective customers to understand short and longer-term needs and feedback conclusions to portfolio review process
  • Spend minimum 2 days per month or equivalent facing prospective customers/ customer base to solicit feedback
  • Develop and reflect USPs and clear advantages in product brochures
  • Deliver training to new hires focussing on product details
  • Ensure successful transition of products and information to the regional marketing team for launch
  • Own annual portfolio review and discontinuation process

2. Inputting in to the tactical marketing process

  • Inputting in to the tactical marketing process
  • Input in to the development of tactical marketing plans for portfolio to ensure corporate strategic directives are met
  • Fine tune positioning and future sales argumentation based on market response
  • Input in to sales support literature and product collateral to effectively promote products

3. Own and maintain competitor and technology database

  • Identify and update conclusions from mining competitor website and literature and soliciting customer feedback
  • Securing input from sales and support colleagues and regional marketing
  • Preparing conclusions that help drive the creation of successful customer value propositions for molecular genetics solutions across the portfolio

4.    Act as a champion and owner of results in area of responsibility

 

Key Skills Required

Essential

  • 2 years experience in a Global Product Management role in Life Sciences, Genomics or in vitro Diagnostics
  • Minimum BSc (Hons) in a molecular biology discipline, a comprehensive knowledge and a keen interest in developing applications, new technology and uptake in clinical and diagnostic applications
  • Customer focussed
  • Strong analytical skills


Desirable

  • Direct experience in clinical molecular genetics, or cancer genetics and able to talk the clinical geneticist’s language
  • Lab experience in genomics technologies such as PCR, Microarray and Sequencing
  • Proven track record of success in growing sales in clinical molecular genetics, diagnostics or cancer genetics markets. Including managing relationships with Key Customers/ opinion leaders in their field
  • Successful track record in product management and or product development
