Sysmex Europe launches UC-1100 semi-automated urine chemistry analyser to support flexible urinalysis workflows

2026/04/01 – Hamburg, Germany

Sysmex Europe SE is proud to announce the launch of the UC-1100, a semi-automated urine chemistry analyser designed to support routine urine testing in laboratories, clinics and near-patient environments.

The new analyser expands Sysmex’s urinalysis portfolio by combining compact design, intuitive operation and enhanced connectivity, enabling laboratories to integrate urine chemistry testing flexibly into existing workflows.

The UC-1100 is the successor to the widely used UC-1000 and introduces several functional enhancements aimed at improving usability, data traceability and workflow efficiency while maintaining familiar testing processes for laboratory staff.

Supporting routine urine chemistry testing in diverse laboratory environments

Urinalysis remains a key diagnostic tool in routine clinical practice, supporting the detection and monitoring of a wide range of conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney disease and metabolic disorders.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the UC-1100 can operate as a stand-alone urine chemistry analyser, be integrated into a Sysmex UN-Series urinalysis solution or complement existing laboratory workflows. This versatility allows laboratories to adapt testing configurations to their operational requirements without disrupting established processes.

The analyser provides urine chemistry results in less than one minute, enabling efficient processing of routine samples in both central laboratories and near-patient testing environments. Intuitive operation and a larger 7-inch touchscreen support straightforward interaction and minimal training requirements for laboratory staff.

Enhanced connectivity and traceability for modern laboratory workflows

The UC-1100 introduces expanded connectivity and data management capabilities to support modern laboratory requirements.

LAN connectivity enables bidirectional communication with laboratory information systems (LIS), facilitating structured data exchange and improved traceability of test results.

The analyser also expands user management functionality, allowing up to 100 registered users and enabling operator identification through barcode scanning. Additional quality control settings support documentation of reagent lot information and user identification, helping laboratories strengthen data traceability and compliance with quality management standards.

To accommodate increasing workloads and data retention requirements, internal storage capacity has been doubled to 10,000 results and associated test strip images.

Supporting screening approaches in kidney disease detection

Using compatible test strips, the UC-1100 enables the combined measurement of albumin and creatinine on a single urine test strip, allowing automatic calculation of the albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) and protein-to-creatinine ratio (PCR).

These parameters can support screening approaches for the early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD) as part of routine urinalysis workflows, contributing valuable information within established diagnostic pathways.

Key features of the UC-1100

  • Semi-automated urine chemistry analyser for routine urinalysis
  • Results available in less than one minute
  • Large 7-inch touchscreen for improved readability and ease of use
  • LAN connectivity with bidirectional LIS communication
  • Expanded user management (up to 100 users)
  • 10,000-result data storage with test strip images
  • Supports albumin/creatinine and protein/creatinine ratios for kidney disease screening
