UX/UI Lead (f/m/x) – Biomedical Software Solutions
Your responsibilities
As UX/UI Lead (m/f/d) you will play a pivotal role within our Digital Lab Solutions Division in shaping the user experience across a suite of innovative software applications tailored for diagnostic laboratories and beyond. You will lead the end-to-end design process, ensuring harmonized, intuitive, and superior UX/UI design that meets the complex needs of healthcare professionals while driving usability, efficiency, and satisfaction.
- Define and evolve user-centered design strategies aligned with product and business goals, and ensure consistency and scalability in design standards across multiple software products
- Represent the EMEA region in global UX/UI alignment efforts – acting as a design ambassador and ensuring regional needs are reflected
- Establish and maintain a standardized UX way of working, including usability engineering processes and documentation practices
- Develop and maintain a scalable design system that promotes harmonization across products
- Coordinate external design parteners and front-end developers to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery of design assets in agile development cycles
- Conduct and guide user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews and implement user feedback loops to inform and validate design decisions
- Translate complex biomedical workflows into intuitive interaction concepts and protoypes
- Work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and domain experts to translate complex workflows into intuitive user interfaces and to validate design effectiveness
- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and validate solutions
- Ensure compliance with relevant usability and accessibility standards (e.g., ISO 9241, IEC 62366, WCAG)
Your profile
- University degree in UX Design, HCI, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong focus on conceptual design and usability engineering
- Proven track record in designing complex, data-intensive applications – ideally in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design processes, interaction design, and visual design for software products
- Deep understanding of UX methodologies and standards (e.g., Design Thinking, UXQB, ISO 9241, ISO 25010, ISO 62366)
- Experience in setting up and leading UX processes, design systems, and cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with medical device software development and relevant regulatory environments
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Axure)
- Strong knowledge of design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles
- Experience working in agile development environments and using tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for users
