This poster explains common causes that affect red blood cell indices. Since suspicious results can be challenging to handle in the daily routine, the CBC-O add-on in the Extended IPU changes the workflow for the better. Once an increased MCHC is detected, it automatically triggers a reflex measurement using RET channel technology and identifies the underlaying cause. The user is guided to a decision with supporting information in the CBC-O dialogue window, including analytical alternatives and automatically recalculated indices.
