Being diagnosed with haematologic malignancy actually happens either because the patient presents with certain symptoms or – as is becoming increasingly common – there are incidental findings during routine blood screening on modern haematology analysers. This white paper aims to describe how parameters of a complete blood count may reveal significant abnormalities and improve the incidental findings of suspected haematologic samples early on.

Emicizumab (Hemlibra®, Roche Pharma AG) is a humanised, modified, monoclonal immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) antibody with a bispecific antibody structure. Emicizumab substitutes part of the cofactor function of activated factor VIII (FVIIIa) by bridging activated factor IX (FIXa) and factor X (FX) to restore effective haemostasis in HA individuals.

In this poster, Sysmex Europe SE (SEU) evaluated the use and comparability between DryFlowEx TBNK 6-color dry tubes (DFE) tubes and KOMBITEST™ TBNK 6-color liquid cocktail (Exbio, Prague) using XF-1600 flow cytometer TBNK automated volumetric counting software. All parameter results were comparable and statistical analysis showed no significant difference.

This poster showed that the use of the tested Sysmex AF488 monoclonal kappa antibody gave higher stain indices (SI) compared to the Dako polyclonal FITC antibody with the conclusion that it may be a suitable alternative to FITC polyclonal antibodies.
